Meghan Jones holds a BFA in Fibers and Textiles and spent more than a decade working as a knitting pattern designer, author, and educator. Through books, articles, and design work, she built a career centered on creativity, storytelling, and visual communication.
In 2023, a chance connection with deep-sea scientists introduced her to the remarkable beauty of Earth's least-explored ecosystems and inspired a new direction in her artistic practice. Her current work focuses on the light, color, and texture of the deep ocean below 1,000 meters. Using scientific research and deep-sea imagery, she creates paintings that foster curiosity, appreciation, and stewardship for marine environments.
Jones illustrated and authored a children's nonfiction book about the deep sea, scheduled for release in September 2026. In 2025, she co-founded the Unseen Ocean Collective, an international collaboration of artists and scientists dedicated to connecting audiences with the hidden wonders of the deep ocean through art and science communication.
